Vickiology – the study of Vicki

I am a 19-year-old pre-journalism major attending the University of Nevada, Reno. Usually, on my free time I would be doing something creative; whether it is writing poetry or just making websites, I’m always doing something.

When I was younger, I had a passion for working with web designs. I learned HTML coding at the tender age of 13 and moved on to create my first website on Yahoo’s web server, Geocities. Unfortunately, my Geocities website ceases to exist today.

Before entering my sophomore year of high school, I learned how to read and alter simple layouts for websites like Xanga and MySpace, which I was able to make my own layouts for my blog world.

Over the years, I haven’t been able to do much with web designs because I’ve became focused on journalism. I’ve worked on a newspaper staff for five years, and I would have to say that is where my layout skills really developed.

Aside from journalism and web designs, I have a love for playing the guitar. My parents bought me my first guitar when I was 6, and I have been playing on and off since then. I’ve always wanted to make music one day, and I’ve been trying to write the perfect song for over 6 years with over 85 written songs in my documents.

My other hobbies include collecting erasers (853 and counting), writing poetry and short stories, and having good old fun with friends and family.
